Business Development Manager (East Coast) – Independent Butcher and C-store Channels

Business Development Manager (East Coast) Role:

The business development manager role is a key position within our sales driven business, and has a focus specifically on the independent retail butcher and convenience store channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing business development plans, and achieving targets for the East coast region and managing all the day-to-day business interactions with regional distributors and channel outlets in the area.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience and expertise in these channels, and have a natural empathy for the channel operators.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Developing plans and targets for the territory, and implementing the necessary sales strategies to ensure targets are achieved.
  2. Managing the key relationships with the regional distributors in the territory to deliver on the shared performance expectations, and agreeing on the actions you will deliver to achieve the agreed goals.
  3. Implementing the business development activity plans with independent butcher and convenience store outlets to create the product demand for the distributors.
  4. Working with the butcher and convenience store owners and providing them with the products and point of sale supports that best suits their customers.
  5. Building direct relationships with the end user outlets to ensure they understand and value the Vista brand in their business, and appreciate how it can contribute to the success of their business.
  6. Managing and developing your sales pipeline to deliver long term and sustainable growth within the East Coast territory.
  7. Consistently delivering the company ethos and Vista brand values in all your interactions with all stakeholders.
  8. Being the trusted advisor to your distributor and end user customers, and the go-to expert for them in our product categories and business channels.
  9. Reporting on key market conditions and sales activities through our business CRM system.
  10. Contributing to the development of the business as part of the sales and marketing team development process.
  11. Reporting on your activities, achievements, and progression against plans on a monthly basis to the sales, marketing, and business management team.

Skills, Attributes, and Experience:

  1. Confident, ambitious, and open to learning and personal development.
  2. Highly self-motivated with a disciplined work ethic, and good organisational and time management skills.
  3. Performance focused, with a proven record of delivering results in an ambitious sales driven environment within the food industry.
  4. Minimum 5 years sales experience in the foodservice industry is an essential requirement for this role.
  5. Excellent listening skills with a natural empathy for the customer and being on ‘their side’, while maintaining a sales focus.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and phone manner, with the confidence to interact at all levels from the business owner to the shop floor.
  7. Competent with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Remuneration:

Excellent salary and benefits package depending on experience, with the opportunity to earn generous bonuses through a performance based incentive scheme.
