Burgers, Chicken, Pizza, Chinese, Indian….These are just some of the takeaway foods we can get delivered direct to our doorsteps. But, if we want a breakfast roll, we go to our local hot deli counter, right? Well, perhaps this will also be delivered to our door in the future.
Being realistic, many of us struggle to have a quick bowl of cereal or a slice of toast before running out the door in the mornings, let alone have time to wait for sausages and bacon to be delivered!
Considerations for food business owners include online ordering whether directly or through the likes of JUST EAT and Deliveroo. These are the sites people automatically associate with hot food ordering.
Secondly, a cooked breakfast is largely associated with a treat, a break – typically to be enjoyed at the weekend.
This poses the question:
Would breakfast delivery be a profitable service offering for food outlets on weekends only?
One Dublin restaurant recently tested out full Irish breakfast weekend delivery and it certainly seemed to get some positive feedback.
Noting the reaction from one very happy consumer who said;
“The only reason I get out of bed early on a Saturday morning is to cook the family a full Irish. Now, I get an extra hour in bed and a delicious breakfast fully prepared, right to my door – it’s bliss!”
We can certainly all relate to that at times! However, are there enough of these customers out there to build a breakfast delivery business around?
