JUST EAT is one of the leading online takeaway ordering platforms, operating in 15 countries around the globe. What are JUST EAT doing to benefit takeaways in Ireland?
It turns out they may be offering a delivery service to sit alongside their online ordering platform, similar to the service being offered by the likes of Deliveroo. They recently launched a trial of their own delivery service, previous to this they acted solely as the order taker and payment point on behalf of their restaurant and takeaway partners.
The service is initially only available in Dublin City Centre – operated by cyclists where the customer delivery address is within a one-mile radius of the takeaway.
Just Eat say they are only delivering to select areas as they “want to continue to stay true to their mission, that the consumer enjoys their takeaway experience”, from the website experience to delivering food in top quality condition and in a timely manner.
The word is that it is primarily focused on the office working consumer and the lunchtime trade, but who knows? Watch this space!
