Kebabs have their origins in Middle Eastern cuisine and in Ireland we know it best as the late night refuel after a night out.
If you happen to be out on the lash in London, you can enjoy the world’s most expensive Kebab on the way home. It will only set you back £925. That’s nine hundred… for one kebab! Not much left for the taxi then!
The only downside we see is that it’s a shish kebab (on a skewer) rather than a Doner (in a pitta bread). Other than that it’s bound to take off!
It’s on the menu in The Hazev Restaurant on Canary Wharf and is the creation of chef Onder Sahan.
Onder also has the distinction of being the winner of the annual British Kebab Awards earlier this year, so he obviously knows his kebabs.
The rare and gourmet ingredients include Japanese Wagyu beef, a 25-year old Italian vinegar, French Chaumes cheese, courgette flowers, Turkish basil, and Le Vallee des Baux olive oil.
Sahan is so confident in his creation that he has offered to pay £925 to any chef who can come up with a more luxurious kebab experience.
