Just Eat announced it’s full year 2015 results and their success continues unabated. Here’s a quick summary of their performance…
- Processed 2m orders in 2015 worth £1.7 billion (€2.2b), that’s an average order value of £17.67 (€22.95)
- The Order number was up from 61.2m in 2014, and the average order value was up from £16.99
- Operating profit was £59.7m, up 83% on the previous year.
- They had 14.3m active users across all markets, up from 8.1m in 2014.
- 66% of all orders were placed from mobile devices, up from 53% in 2014.
- The UK accounted for c. 70% of all orders
- Group revenue (or sales) of £247m came from the following sources:
- Commission 78%
- Payment card & admin fees 13%
- Connection fees 3%
- Top-placement fees 5%
- Other 1%
Figures were not broken out for Ireland but it was noted that revenues in the established markets of Ireland, Switzerland, and France continued to grow above the Group average.
According to the Irish Times, Just Eat claims to have over 750,00 active users in Ireland in 2014, and to process more than 150,000 orders per month across its 1,700 Irish takeaway restaurants.
That’s an average of 88 orders per restaurant each month.
The only slight negative was the significant sell-off of shares by two senior executives just after the announcement of the results, which led to the share price dropping by nearly 7% in one day.
