Graduate Sales Management Trainee (Dublin Based)

A key part of our growth strategy is our in-house sales talent development programme. This programme focuses on the sales and marketing side of our business and provides a structured training and development process for candidates to develop into high calibre sales professionals within an 18-month period. Successful candidates should expect to be managing their own territory by the end of the programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Through our office and mentored field based training programme, developing an understanding and appreciation of how the company’s products meet customer needs and deliver a sustainable competitive advantage in the market.
  2. Developing the interpersonal and presentation skills necessary to comfortably deal with the different foodservice channel operators.
  3. Developing your sales management skills to allow you become the trusted advisor to your customers, and manage your territory successfully.
  4. Carrying out field based market evaluation assignments to develop an in-depth understanding of the different foodservice operators and how we can help them drive their success.
  5. Working on small scale business development projects on a mentored basis to build your understanding and appreciation of our account management and business development process.
  6. Developing reporting skills necessary to confidently report on your activity, achievements, and progression on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to the management team.
  7. Developing your skills on the key Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and on the business CRM system.
  8. Contributing to the development of the business as part of the sales team development process.

Skills, Attributes, and Experience:

  1. Confident, ambitious, and open to learning and personal development.
  2. Performance focused, and comfortable pursuing a career where your ability to deliver results is directly related to your success.
  3. Excellent listening skills with a natural empathy for the customer and being on ‘their side’, while maintaining a sales focus.
  4. Good interpersonal skills and phone manner, with the confidence to interact at all levels from the business owner to the shop floor.
  5. Disciplined work ethic with good organisational and time management skills.
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and the digital and social media space.
  7. Previous experience in a sales environment would be an advantage.
  8. Third level qualification in a business related discipline is preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates who can clearly articulate how this won’t be an impediment to them.
